Nelly Fertado kicks off
acting bid with guest spot on portugese soap
Pop star Nelly Fertado is kicking off her acting career with a guest
appearance on a popular Portuguese soap opera.The "Promiscuous"
performer Nelly Fertado, whose parents are Portuguese, will guest star
on the prime-time show "Floribella" next month.
Nelly Fertado's Canadian publicist said Wednesday that Furtado plays
herself in the brief spot, which was shot Tuesday.The 27-year-old singer
has been in Portugal to promote Nelly Fertado's third album "Loose".
The soap opera "Floribella" is a popular kids series about a poor girl
who dreams of being a singer. The Cinderella tale is a Portuguese remake
of the Argentine TV hit "Floricienta" and draws more than one million
viewers each week night. Nelly Fertado's leap to the acting world is no
surprise.
Nelly Fertado's been taking acting lessons in Toronto and prepared for a
role in the independent U.S. film "Nobody's Hero," which follows a young
soldier as he returns from the Iraq war. Nelly Fertado had to abandon
the project when filming conflicted with promoting her album. Nelly
Fertado returns to Canada to perform at the Grey Cup in Winnipeg on Nov.

Nelly Fertado Double-Dips
with two soaking-wet videos
Nelly Fertado got too
hot with her "Promiscuous" and "Maneater" videos, so now Nelly Fertado's
trying to cool down — by drenching herself with water in her next two
clips.
"My friends make fun of me whenever water's pouring down on anyone, like
I like to spend my spare time being wet," laughed the singer Nelly
Fertado, who spoke on the phone from Portugal. "It's going to be my
thing now."
Nelly Fertado shot the videos for "All Good Things (Come to an End)" and
"Say It Right" back to back, with the latter premiering on "TRL"
Monday (November 6). Stylistically, they couldn't be more different —
apart from the waterworks. "All Good Things," which is featured on Nelly
Fertado's album Loose as a duet with Coldplay's Chris Martin.

Hi everybody!! I am in
Copenhagen right now, preparing for my performance on the mtv europe
music video awards. I am really excited. I just finished shooting two
new videos. All Good Things Come to An End, in Puerto Rico, and Say It
Right, shot in L.a. Stay tuned to check those out. I hope you enjoyed my

I just cut a new song with Timbaland in Virginia for his new album. It
rivals promiscuous in it's hotness!!!!

shows that she doesn't need to work from the safety of a production
studio to bring her songs to life. The set is led off by the playful

reprising his vocal role) and then goes into the rock-oriented "Say It
Right." Both "Maneater" and "All Good Things" get an acoustic reworking

super excited about the enthusiasm surrounding my album!!! Thanks for
making "Loose" a hit around the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy

real soon. I had a blast shooting it in La Perla, Puerto Rico. Stay
